Shuffleboard is the cool new kid on the bar scene. It’s simple, fun, and surprisingly competitive. And thankfully, there are plenty of places to try shuffleboard in Manchester.
So whether, you’re hanging out in the Northern Quarter or fancy a game with your drink in Deansgate, there’s a perfect spot waiting for you.
Where to Play Shuffleboard in Manchester
Roxy Ballroom, Deansgate
Roxy Ballroom is the place to go if you want to let off some steam with friends after a long week at work. Here you’ll find two beautiful full length shuffleboard tables where you can really hone your skills.
If you want to try something different, give their bank shot shuffleboard a go. This involves hitting the puck against a back wall, letting it slide back to score points. It’s played on a smaller table and is a great way of mixing things up if you’re already a shuffleboard pro.
One of the best things about Roxy Ballroom is the sheer number of games available. After your game of shuffleboard, you can give something else a go – whether that’s crazy pool or beer pong.
Roxy Ballroom offer off-peak pricing, so you’ll get a better deal if you head there outside of peak hours!
Roxy Ballroom, The Arndale
Roxy Ballroom have not one but locations in Manchester! So if you find yourself nearer to the Arndale centre, you can head straight here.
Just like the one in Deansgate, this location has two full length shuffleboard tables as well as the unusual bank shot shuffleboard.
The atmosphere is great and you can order some drinks and classic diner style food while you play.
Box, Deansgate
Box is one of the cheapest spots to play shuffleboard in Manchester at just £10 per hour. It’s also a personal favourite of mine!
Not only are the shuffleboard tables beautiful, they also offer 2-4-1 cocktails Sunday-Wednesday. This makes is a great afterwork hangout or weeknight date spot.
If you like sports, this is the place for you. You’ll always find something being shown – from the football to boxing. They also host a great pub quiz each week and feature live bands, so you’ll never be board once your game finishes.
Pong & Puck
Pong and Puck is the ultimate throwback. Play shuffleboard to the soundtrack of 80s, 90s and 00s top hits with a wham-themed cocktail in hand.
Like some of the other venues on this list, shuffleboard isn’t the only game available at Pong & Puck. Their crowd pleaser is the beer pong (although they also offer prosecco or cocktail pong if that’s more your style!).
You can even hire out a private ‘Shuffle Pod’ for you and your 5 closest friends, where you can play your own music and enjoy a more intimate feel.
7 Sins Northern Quarter
If you’re in the Northern Quarter looking for a place to play shuffleboard, 7 Sins

Looking for a dog friendly shuffleboard spot in Manchester? 7 Sins is dog friendly for the most part with the only exception being after 9pm on Fridays and 4pm on Saturday.
The Gasworks Brew Bar
You can find the Gasworks Brew Bar off the Oxford Road. This cool spot has beer options abound with plenty of options to try something new. They also offer street-style food including things like Korean BBQ chicken and Chaat Masala.
There are two shuffleboards available for use, which can be enjoyed alongside the in-house brewed beer.
I love the industrial feel of this shuffleboard spot!
Bierkeller & Shooters Sports Bar
You’ll find Bierkeller in Manchester’s Printworks. This venue has four bars spread across 2 floors including a Bavarian Bierkeller Bar, a Shooters Sports Bar, and their Around the World Beer Bar.
With over 20 television screens, it’s a great place to watch the sports.
But you’ll also find two full-length shuffleboard tables here to keep you fully entertained whilst you enjoy your beer.
And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, give one of their American Pool tables or table football a go!
Lane 7, Deansgate
You’ll find the wonderful Lane 7 at the iconic Great Northern building in Deansgate. This is a great place to head to with friends and enjoy a whole host of games.
Not only do they offer a classic game of shuffleboard, you can also give ping pong, bowling, darts, karaoke, and beer pong a go.
The space is very fun with a neon graffiti vibe. However, it is a little pricier than some other spots at £17 for an hour of shuffleboard.
Boom Battle Bar
Boom Battle Bar is the ultimate games battleground. Get competitive with everything from darts to axe throwing, karaoke to beer bong, and (of course!) the humble shuffleboard.
Like Bierkeller, you’ll find Boom Battle Bar in the centre of Manchester at the Printworks.
Again, as this is more of an ‘experience’ than just a regular bar, the prices are a little higher. It’ll cost £15 for 30 minutes and £25 for the full hour – although split between 6 people, this is still pretty affordable!
Best Place to Play Shuffleboard in Manchester
It’s difficult to choose the best place to play shuffleboard Manchester – there are so many great options!
If you’re looking for a chill spot to play whilst enjoying a drink with friends, I would recommend heading to Box. It’s a little more low key than some of the other locations on this list, making it a great place for a more casual game of shuffleboard in Manchester.
When you’re wanting more of an exciting experience (perhaps with some other games included!), then Roxy Ballroom or Lane 7 is probably your best bet!
