The new year always provides the perfect time for reflection and reinvention. In 2020, more than ever, we were pushed to our limits. After a year that’s been difficult for so many of us, this January gives us a chance to take stock of the past year. We now have a moment to assess how we dealt with the challenges of 2020 and find new ways to do so in the future. This journaling challenge takes us through the month of January, with a prompt each day to help us delve into our own self-development and take control of our lives.
If you take up just one thing this year, let it be journaling. Journaling is one of the best ways to work through emotions, reduce stress, improve decision making, and get to know yourself better. Getting your worries out onto the page can stop them from taking over your mind so much. And writing down your goals is often cited as a great way to stick to them. Journaling can help in almost all areas of your life from relationships, to career, to school, to family. It provides the perfect opportunity to assess your current situation and create practical plans for improvement.
